Isn't it lovely! Clever Husbo, he knows that any present to do with the animals will be good enough for me and always brings a tear to my eye! Look at lovely Olive!

Please excuse the plethora of threads that will come from me in the next few days/weeks. I can't believe it has taken me this long to work out how to post a picture. Now I know how I will be posting everything I snap!

Oh it's beautiful! Or should I say she's beautiful! :D Well done your hubs and well done you for figuring out how to post pics! ;)

CT, I was hoping you would find this thread! No he did the picture of Olive but I managed to upload it to here. I just persevered and no I'm like 'is that it!?' :p

Ha, you spud! See if you can get your phone to automatically load any pictures straight to whatever hosting site you use. Do it manually a few times and it should start doing it automatically if you have a smart phone. :)

We should do a 'Who has the hairiest cob' thread, I again had to broom the whole yard after a grooming session today :p

Your husband's a bit clever!

Ooooh ooooh hang on, I should point out that he is a computer whizz..... This is digital art. The first one of Olive is just made to look like a drawing....

Apols, I should have pointed that out. Jeez if this were 'real' art, we'd be millionaires!

I feel like I've cheated you all!

Yes his work requires technical wizardry, but what he's produced shows a real creative flair and an "eye" for what works. :)

It's beautiful.

Ha ha you'd be a whole lot poorer if he could do that for real rather than using computer trickery!

My husband actually draws realistic portraits and is far from a millionaire.

The most disheartening thing is people who assume that 2 months work with his pencils was actually a few hours tinkering with a photo on a computer. :(

This is a sad reality these days. :( I draw a bit myself (nothing like your husband's work which is fantastic Kat) and I remember an ex saying, "That's great but I could do the same in minutes on my pc." :(

To be honest though, what I've seen of computer "drawings" they do tend to look "flat" and lifeless. I'm sure there are thechy geeks who could prove me wrong though.

Well the first one of Olive is so beautiful and soft. It really is stunning. I think he worked on that for about 6 hours, so nothing compared to what it would have taken if it were drawn.

A montage of the dog that he did for me has about 13 different shots in it and it took him a good 10 hours or so. I understand that the digital age must be having a real impact on 'art'.

Thanks for the compliment FionaM12

Sorry for the misery but this stuff depresses me when so many talented people struggle to sell their work for prices equating to minimum wage.

'this stuff'? You mean my wonderful present? :)

That's not reeeeeeaaaaly what this thread is about though is it because my husband doesn't sell his 'art'. I get it for every birthday and Christmas :p

How would I know cinnamon toast? Plenty of people do sell this type of stuff, often without being entirely upfront about the process. That is why it narks me.

I've had threads pulled just for mentioning my husbands name never mind doing any actual advertising of his business. One was about the cancellation of a horse trials last year!

And if I posted a thread like this I'd get a warning from admin for advertising

Would that be because your husband is an artist who sells his art? Therefore the warning would be warranted, this post is about a present my non artist husband made for me.... my husband is a personal trainer... And as a man with a fat wife he doesn't encourage me to advertise his business :)

Do away with your misery :(

Also, this stuff isn't the same as your husband's art, quite clearly. If I want a proper portrait I will pay proper money and go to an artist. If someone wanted a digital montage of pictures of their pets they would go to a computer whizz, not an artist...
