When my TB was patiently waiting to be shod, happily wearing his Fly Rug, with a tarpaulin flapping around next to him ..... suddenly he started leaping around, kicking out and being very fretful .... and for a horse that normally stands there asleep for the Farrier (runs and hides by mentioning that word
) I knew something was up
A [****] fly (horse fly
) had found its way under his rug
We then tied him up in his stable, where the Farrier (
) pointed out two small little lumps on his quarters ...... TB was in ecstasy if I scratched them ......
However poor boy did not settle to be shod, as he kept trying to bite his side and flicking his tail and was a very angry boy .... he is normally Mr Dopey personified around the stables
Well a couple of hours later .... look what appeared ....... you can just see the initial two little bites that the Farrier (
) noticed ....
I covered it in Aloe Vera Cooling Gel, that a very kind girl gave me
and he just stood there with his head on the ground, say Aaaaaaah ....
