A 6 month old Labrador bitch, who was a bit too much for her previous owner to cope with. She rode home in the back of the car with the other three who came with us to meet her and got on well with her. We were very near the coast, so decided to call at the beach to let them all play together, keeping the newbie on a longline.

Yes, I pm'd ct earlier today to ask her if she would do me the favour, once again, of posting some photos. She offered to put the text on as well, which seemed to make most sense.
It was a bit of an impulse in a long-winded way! A few weeks ago through a friend of a friend we were offered a 3 Yr old Golden, whose owner is allergic to dogs. It's one if those crazy lockdown stories and everyone involved, is very cross with the original owner. We went to meet her but it just didn't seem like a good match and I knew that she was advertised through the GR rescue website, so said we would be the last resort, if necessary. Fortunately she found a good home the next weekend
Then I saw a piece on the News about pets needing to be rehomed because of the cost of living crisis and looked into it a bit more. The owner’s family circumstances have changed dramatically recently, she has another Lab not much older, which she is keeping but our pup is very lively and just wasn't getting enough attention.
I spoke to the owner on Saturday and we went to meet them on Sunday. The pup just fitted in with ours straightaway.

Was it a sudden decision or had the owner spoken to you lots? One of each colour is brilliant!

Almost everyone we meet when we are out and about with the 3 if them says' you just need a brown one'. So we got one!
The pale yellow belongs to a friend and we look after her when friend is at work, we often meet up to walk together at the weekend. She is just 12 months old, while the adults are 3.

One of each colour :D Looks like a lot of fun, and she will have a super home with you.

We took them to a secure dog field today, they played together very nicely, sharing sniffs and chasing balls together. Pup's recall is good, especially as we have changed her name, although it sort of rhymes with her old name. I think we will continue with secure field walking this week, for safety.

That's great seeing them all get on so well so soon!

So working out which dog is which, you now have two 3 yo yellow labs, one darker than the other, plus the newbie 6 month old chocolate lab. The black lab is the one that you regularly look after and walk for a friend?

Or have I got that wrong ??

ETA How do you travel 4 labs at once? Rear seats folded down?

The black and the 'fox red' (butterscotch to you and me, she's not red) are ours, the cream belongs to friend.

Sister has a massive 7 seater SsangYong Rexton that we use as the dog car, there's plenty of room for 4 Labs in the back without putting the main seats down, which is great because it means that we can have back seat passengers and all the accompanying stuff like waterbowls, towels etc that we need when we take the dogs out.
We spent ages researching 4x4s that weren't double cab pickups and the Rexton is definitely the best. At the time we had 2 Rottweilers so needed plenty of dog space.

How lovely, another fan of the colour coordination too! She looks quite little in the first photo, less so in the second with all the others

Tbf none if them are very big; the black and the dark yellow/butterscotch are working-bred and the cream is just 12 months old with some growing still to do, she is a chunkier shape though, more of a show-bred Lab. The pup is a similar slim build to our 2 but looks as if she will be taller.
