Thought I'd better clear it out before winter is truly upon us and it's too cold to stick my hands in and I found these cute little guys (OH left the flash on for this one the naughty boy )

The bravest of them seemed to enjoy his jacuzzi once I untied the stop cock to fill it up again :)

I keep having to evict a giant toad from T's stable; why on earth it wants to live there I have no idea but he keeps coming back

Had lots of baby froggies around in the summer, I was extremely paranoid about standing on them

Why flat? did your horse squash him. BH and his brother like to drown rats in their stable water buckets! Pair of hooligans!

You are so honoured to have frogs - its years since I've seen one live. I remember on the back hill to Chesham there being signs warning people about the frogs as in spring they would leave the woods on one side of the road to get to the stream on the otherside of the road. They would cross in hundreds it was quite amazing.

I think toad will be coming in to find somewhere damp and protected for the winter.

I do feel very chuffed to have found them I must say :) I like frogs. We have them in our pond at home (as in my parents home, not my flat obviously!) but it's great to have them here too.

Growing up we had a toad that lived in our log shed but when it was really hot we used to leave the back door open and he used to come and lie on our quarry tiled kitchen floor to cool off. The dogs and cats got totally used to him and would just completely ignore him :)

we have these around the yard and under the fillers as its nice and damp under there. I watched on long leat that they use goldfish in there tanks to keep the algae down :-D

Funny story, i take the dog out every evening for a wee and my sister in law sometimes comes with me as its dark and its a residential area so i like to have company just incase. We went out one eve and it had been raining and the pavements get covered in slugs and these little toad things! They are very hard to see in the dark ;-) its most bizzare seeing them on the pavements! Well we were walking back from the green down a little alley between bungalows and my dog touched something on the floor and it started hopping, the dog jumped, i jumped, my sister in law... she screamed, turned tail and ran!!! she absolutley wet her pants! i must admit i thought it was a mouse or something at first ;-)

I have a toad that lives under the shrub in front of my utility room door. He tries to get in sometimes - hence his name Buggerov.

Great creatures.
