So I posted pictures of celine a few months ago and the general opinion was that she was quite under muscled, big hay belly etc.. Which I totally agree with. Since then she has been in more work and had been starting to look really great - more top line, less belly etc.. She has been out of work for almost two weeks now so has gone backwards a little but just wondering what you guys think? :)

Thank you

I'm no expert and getting slightly distracted by her mane in the 'after' pictures but I'd say a good improvement in muscle tone and of course the coat is gorgeous :-)

Please be careful tying her up with no break point though - visualising horrible accidents if she pulled back and took that rail with her :-(

Why's her main distracting? :) curious now... She's tied so that if she pulled it would just slip through

She looks considerably better, she's a very smart looking mare.

I would be very wary though, as to me she is looking quite chubba for this time of year. I would quite like to see her lose quite a bit of weight relatively quickly, as the grass coming through won't help her waistline! But for a TB, she is looking rotund IMO.

Ideally, you want the health and shine and muscle of the recent photos, but the weight of the original (as in last year's) I think.

She's just turned 6.

She looked like this, this time last year when we bought her -

Wow, you've done very well with her then!! I love her face marking, it's so quirky :D
I only asked her age as she looks bum high in the new photos, especially the first one, it could just be how she is standing though :)

Thank you for the reply lolo.. I know she does look a bit chubby, but in real life I can see about 3 or 4 ribs all the time and all are felt easily, the lighting, her coat and my camera seems to hide them! She's the type that gets a hay belly very quick if she hasn't done anything for a little while and she hasn't for a couple of weeks so I'm hoping when she's back in work she will lose the rotund look!

Emsar I think the bum highness is just the uneven ground, well.. I hope so as she's already grown two inches over winter, don't need anymore thank you! :P

Cameras definitely lie, don't they! Al had a mare over the winter who looked in the photos just a bit scrawny. In reality she was worryingly poor.

The grass has come through too, we've found. A hunter Al looks after is prone to looking a bit too well, and in the last week he's gone from being passable to looking like he's about to have twins! Upping the workload and he's on strict rations, poor boy...

They really do! Hard to capture reality sometimes

Oh, just that it was looking in really decent nick but all the before photos are from the other side so harder to compare top line as obviously half (new) neck hidden by it.

Sorry that was a really boring explanation!

Her mane is such a pain.. It's so thick for a tb, it just lays on both sides
