Looking for recommendations on dealers for 3.5t boxes. Not looking to buy brand new and ideally looking for somewhere in the north/Scotland

I've heard lots of good things about TravelTwo http://www.traveltwohorseboxes.com/currentstock.htm who sell pre-vetted quality 2nd hand 3.5s, but they're in Herefordshire. You have to be quick, the boxes are sold within a couple of days of being listed. I've dealt with them before but never actually bought from them - and in the spirit of full disclosure my box is on there at the 'mo as a 'customer sale'. Ignore the bonkers looking website, I don't think the couple who run the business are very technically minded!

The Yorkshire builders like Alexanders, JSW and JM sometimes have 2nd hand trade-ins on their websites, but they will prob still be £20K+

thanks sidewaysonacob I have already contacted them but the boxes seem to sell very quickly so havent managed to get down quick enough to see them.

Unfortunately dont have 20k i have about 10-12k to spend. will keep looking! Funny when i was looking before and didnt have the money I saw loads now I have the money I can't seem to find any!

I had a Marlborough and it was a well built, no frills little box. Would recommend for your budget.

ROG is right though, depending on what you want to transport you will be limited weight wise. We have gone for a 3.5t with a little living knowing that we will be limited to 1 horse.

There are loads on horsemart for £4k sold by someone called Jacqueline? V cheap so not sure on them tbh!

Very true on the payload. I'm trying to sell mine and the amount of people that want to transport two big horses is unbelievable. They either need a trailer or a bigger box! Lol

Old thread ... but I'm looking for horseboxes at the moment and like most people I'm goggling the companies I'm thinking of buying from and this is one of the first that comes up for traveltwo. We've tried to buy from them (lovely little box!) - saw it the same day as advertised, put asking price offer immediately but the gent asked us to arrange sale through his wife so emailed her within an hour. Started getting very excited!! Their website (not actually registered to their current address incidentally) offers a home approval service (basically you pay £200 deposit, its taken off the market and you have a limited time to arrange delivery and independent inspection). Unfortunately when we mentioned we wanted to do this the box was suddenly not for sale unless we fancied paying for it in full without inspection and then trusting them to deliver it! We've wasted several hours driving back and forth to Hereford...

If anybody knows of any decent 3.5t boxes within about 2 hours of Bristol I'd love some recommendations!

Thanks - found GC Horseboxes facebook page (they seem to do some impressive paint jobs!) - a bit too far for me at the moment but if we don't find anything nearer we may have another look

I bought a box from Travel Two in May. Polly was 100 percent honest and I would recommend her to anyone. Her husband is fastidious about vehicles being mechanically perfect. There is nothing about 3.5t lorries that they don't know!
You have to be quick to get one of her vehicles as she always has a waiting list and when I was looking for a lorry Travel Two constantly was recommended and I never found any negative information.
The address is probably different as she was in the middle of moving.
I know there are lots of scams out there but You need not have worried, you would have got a fab horsebox

Had mine built by Gary at gc horseboxes, delighted with it. He was building one for someone in Scotland same time as building mine! Don't bother with his website but look at Facebook page for far more current info. Polly at travel two great too :)
