The gist was about them learning to relax and not overloading them with agility, flyball, etc all the time.
I can't find it by searching and have no idea who posted it, when or what the thread was! Am looking for a friend who has a high energy spaniel puppy. It was a really interesting piece as far as I recall and definitely made sense.
I would be eternally grateful if anyone could remember it!!

Not a collie or spaniel but I was just so delighted to have a drivey sports dog after years of show dogs that wouldn't chase or carry a ball, that I blew his brains fairly young with prey stuff.

If they have genetic drive, it'll be there if and when you need it.
I could genuinely have done all of his training, including the drive stuff, with food alone, as his food drive was so good, and kept him below threshold...but I know that now!!!
