Hello everyone.

I used to be on here ages ago, but could not stay away for long!

I have recently moved my TB to a new field and although there are horses next door, she is a bit sressed on her own and is pacing a lot of the time. She has only been there a month and I know that they can take a while to settle, but I am a little concerned.

So I am thinking of getting a companion for her and was wonderinf if anyone had any suggestions of where to look etc?

I have tried horsemart, H&H and even project horses but I think I may be looking for the immpossible - this an idea of what I am looking for:

Quiet to hack (this is probably the only part I am not that flexible on).
I am not looking for a superstar so if they can only be hacked that is fine - able to do fun rides/ dressage etc is just a bonus!
Prefer one that is not a nutcase as already have one of those, but do not mind some issues.
Ideally would like one that my novice OH could hack out on to accompany me & my TB when out.
Age, sex, breed not really fussed on. Would like over 14.2 if possible.

However at the moment I only have limited funds (have been saving for another horse but was not planning to get one just yet) of £800, could possibly go up to £1k for right horse. Therefore would be happy with loan or LWVTB.

I have run the sums and will be able to pay for feed, farrier, insurance etc but as I say I do have limited funds to purchase at the moment.

Thoughts and advice much appreciated. I am going to do seperate post about ideas to keep my mare happy.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I've got a 3 yr old 14.1hh pony thats looking for a temp loan home. I don't want to sell him but we don't have the winter grazing for him and he's not mature enough yet to be stabled with mine 24/7 and worked daily. He's backed and hacks alone or in company and very sweet. If this suits PM me.

Oh you are right near me (am in Fleet!)
Have you looked in Buttons and Gawthorpes etc?
There are several nice ponies and horses looking for loaners in Rokers.

Gosh holly you are right he looks lovely ! - I want I want !

I've been in this position too over the last few weeks and managed to borrow a couple of section A youngsters who are very cute and as they were already a pair I didn't need to worry about my mare getting to attached as she can get like that + now she can't live out they have each other for company at night !!!

It would be nice to have another one for hacking tho then my friends could come up and ride with me

I am starting to consider a little one, but also I am thinking that as I'll be paying for another horse I may as well get one I can hack out and do things with. I already have one useless lump... er I mean delightful TB LOL.
