Hi, I have had a break from riding but at the beginning of summer I relented to a friends request for me to join her on a hack. Unfortunately this did result in me loving riding again so I found a very local school for lessons, all in all the passion came back. I would love to buy my own next year, but I keep putting myself off as think I should at least have a share or a loan to start with and I have experienced friends as a support network. I recently advertised on Facebook to help with yard duties with the possibility of some riding, I didnt get many responses and a bit like online dating some people that responded then ghosted me when I asked for more info or tried to make dates to meet up. I had one lady that let me down very last minute through no fault of my own. So in a nutshell I think a loan is the only option, but if I do find a suitable partner in crime, how do you go about finding a yard with a space, can you reserve a space etc also I presume an owner would want to view the yard but not sure how that works. Apologies if I am being really dim.

Why not go for a share rather than full loan? If you have been away from horses for a while it’s an easier way to get back in the swing of things . Look in local tack shops, feed shops, and put a wanted notice in them if there are no shares advertised , you can also look on places like preloved for ads asking for sharers … maybe ask at the riding school to see if they know of any shares needed
