New to the forum, brought here by my desire to move yards.

I live in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire and I'm looking for a new yard within a five mile radius of Burton, preferably on the Barton side of Burton. I would sooner be on a small, quiet and friendly yard. I do not compete, however, I would like facilities and a well managed yard with nice hacking out. My horse's welfare comes first so I am looking for a secure yard with adequate fencing, must have individual paddocks and someone living on site 24/7. The smaller the better as I love the peace and quiet and don't like to get involved with yard politics! Currently DIY and I pride myself in my high standards. Can anyone help? I am slowly thinking it would be easier to move house than try to find the perfect yard around here!

There is a yard in Barton next to the New Inn I think, I don't know anything about it, but remember driving past it a few times on the way to the golf club there. I should imagine hacking could be quite nice.

Sorry, I'm from the other side of B-O-T, not quite familier with the Barton side, I'm a 'Swaddie' lol :)

Other than speaking to someone at one of the local tack shops i.e Larkhill or Eland Lodge to see if they can recommend anywhere or having a look on their advertisement boards for any advertised vacancies, I'm no use an orniment to you, Doh!

Good luck with you search :)

Should have added that I've had horses for 30+ years, so familiar with most yards within a ten mile radius of Burton. Preferably looking for that one person who has their own stables and willing to rent one to a very genuine, honest and experienced rider.

Craythorne I know, and like Barleyfields, Hargate, Meadow View etc, they operate as a riding school and I would therefore not consider as they would be far busier than I would like.

So if you have your own land/menage/stables and considering a livery, but worried what sort of person that may bring, then please get in touch so I can allay your fears, for I am the perfect tenant!

I know the one you mean, it's not in Barton but at 5 Lane Ends in Rangemore. They advertise on the Pool House webpage. Not quite what I had in mind, would prefer to have my neddy somewhere smaller. Thanks anyway!

If you are looking for very small, I don't know how it will suit you commute wise, but there is a little yard, not really a proper livery, I think the lady has 2-3 liveries in total... It's near 6 lanes end, about a mile or so towards Yoxall on right hand side. Don't know their name and seem to have lost the phone number, but you could always just drive in? Or have a look and ask about at Eland Lodge, I'm sure someone there will know them :)
I used to live in Hill Ridware and travel around the area quite a bit ;)
