My daughter is moving back home after being away at uni.
I have a TB gelding at home (3 acres) that I hack out on his own, he's bored I,m bored so my plan is to get another gelding for my daughter to hack out on at weekends with me.
Looking to loan or buy a nice sensible hack that won't mind much work! ie being dragged out the field one, twice three times a week.
Where do I start looking!
Any help gratefully received! We are in Kent.

Do you have to pay to be a member of pre-loved?
I am reluctant to look at loan adverts as my gut feelings are loan horses have a reason to be needed to loan.
I would much rather loan from someone who knew the horse and recommeneded.
Any one know of any for hacking 5* home?

Preloved is £5 per year for as many private ads as you like. Perhaps worth a look or try a rescue centre? Blue Cross, Redwings or similar?

Good luck with your search :).

Last two horses I bought were from Preloved and Horsemart respectively. The Horsemart one is a fantastic, steady mare who you could trust with your granny. She was about the 5th I viewed. There were quite a few around, all over the country - it's definitely a buyer's market. (Btw there's nothing wrong with the Preloved horse either, just he's a youngster so not in the safe hack category!)

Loan horses don't necessarily have something wrong. My old mare has been out on loan for two years as I had "outgrown" her ability wise. I.e she is a happy hacker and I wanted to do some competing.

Nothing wrong with horses for loan! Mine is on loan at the moment as I'm having another baby and already have a 1 year-old. There are lots of genuine reasons people loan a horse out. I wouldn't send him to a stranger mind you.
