Looking for advice re; previous house owners horses left behind

Serve an abandonment notice. I had a pony abandoned on livery with me. After two years of him actually being useful to me and happily living with me, I needed him to go. I served an abandonment notice and sold him to a lovely riding school.

I still get updates five years on!

Can OP serve an abandonment notice ?
They are ATM on the owners land .
After the sale it would surely have to be the new owners that serve the notice .
If I were OP I would be pushing to try to get the new owners to reslove the issue before the sale is completed .

That's what I thought, although it might seem unlikely, she could still rock up on completion date with a lorry , say cheers for the help, see ya !

Sorry to sound alarmist, but in your position I'd be worried that my own horses could accidentally become involved in some last minute episode....like a dealer comes to take the two away, but gets yours instead/ as well as?!

It's all ok 😀 Although I haven't heard from her at all myself, she has been in touch with the local livery yard (where we both were st one point and where we met) and she is taking them to sell them for the owner so thankfully it's all working out for the best. Can't wait to meet the new owners now and get on with sorting my guys out ready for some showing this year. Thank you all for your help and concern xx

Ah what a relief for you! Really sounds as though she owes you a bottle of something very nice indeed to thank you for taking care of her responsibilities for so long, cheeky minx.
