This is a LONG shot but I had a book that I purchased over 10 yrs ago. It was in a car that I sold and I no longer have it and I’d love to find it. But it’s been a while. And I don’t recall the exact title or the author but here’s what I can tell you.

It was written by an animal communicator in England, somewhere.
It was a collection of stories about her encounters with animals as she traveled doing her work.
There was a story about a herd of cows with calves where the mother died and they were trying to sort out the orphan and after HOURS they couldn’t find the orphan calf because the cows claimed every calf in the pen.
There was a story about a horse named Flower with a traumatic past.
There was a story about an old man and his border collie at the stables where she kept a horse (I believe) and the collie was deaf and followed the old man around and barked at people.
There was a story about her being on a morning talk show and they had a pony for her to “read” and another large horse and it ended up being quite an eventful day.
The cover was light colored like cream/off white color with gray. Very muted tones.

When I tell you that I loved this book. I LOVED IT. I mean I toted it around in my car with me. And I’m so sad that I missed it when I cleaned it out to sell.

Every time I think of the book I try to figure out a new way to google it. I just can never get the search to yield the correct results.

Has anyone out there read this book and know which one I’m referring to??

If you read this far, thank you so much!!

It isn't a book that I had heard of before seeing this thread, but here are several copies here from around £3 inc. postage:

HHO is great, I can't believe how quickly the book was identified by @thefarsideofthefield !

I wonder what happened to Nicci MacKay because she just seemed to vanish off the face of the earth. I pretty sure I can remember seeing the TV show as well, as I distinctly remember watching a program with a lady horse whisperer 'communicating' with two or three horses and telling them what the horses were thinking.

I remember reading Nicki Maccay’s book years ago, I got it from our library. I don’t remember any of the anecdotes mentioned by the OP! But I do remember one about the horse with a pain somewhere in his neck and the equine chiropractor treating him had got the wrong spot. And I think I remember one about a parakeet or parrot. I also wonder what happened to her.

For those who purchased it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. And yes! @Time for Tea I love the story about the horse chiropractor who had just not quite gotten the right spot. She was so shy to say anything.

I wonder. But the name is spelled differently than on the book I have, with "cc" instead of "kk"

I checked this before posting the above. The book is by Nicci Mackay
