Hi all, I have a 14.2hh pony whom I have owned now for eight years, since he was four months old. His name is Chev 3, he is piebald and his passport says he is 15hh, he never grew! ;) I know that he is a cob type but I've recently been wondering of maybe there was a different stallion running on the moors at the time? All I know is that he was from Bodmin moor and I bought him from hallworthy market. His birth date on his passport is 31st May 2006, so the stallion would've covered his mother at roughly June 2005. His head is very cob like, but his body is very lean, he struggles to keep his weight on and never looks chunky like you'd expect a 'cob' to! So I was wondering whether maybe his sire, or even perhaps is dam could of been a different breed. He LOVES jumping and galloping, he could go all day without getting tired. He is extremely strong when he wants to be and loves a good gallop along our local beach. If anyone may know anything about his parents please do get into contact, although I know this is a very long shot, but worth a try :) thanks!

I have been recently trying to do the same regarding my 5yr old gelding. Does your passport have the breeders details? This will be the herd owner and if you can get in contact they may be able to advise. Also I have been told that if your horses name on the passport has some sort of prefix this tells them which stallion he is from.

Maybe if you both put up some photos of your horses then someone on here may recognise them. It happens quite a lot so it's worth posting piccies. Oh and also post a thread in the Tack Room rather than here as it gets more traffic than Breeding :)

Oh yes he does have a microchip, he doesn't have a previous owner because I bought him from market so he only got a passport so he could be sold :/
