horse quest ad ref: 35165 black welsh sec D filly with 4 white socks, sire is by fronarth victor who is by ebbw victor, who's also on my boys line!

or horse quest ad ref: 35099 black 2 year old filly even with the little white star! also related to my boy through the ebbw victor, derwen and nebo blood!!

Why is this post shallow, I really don't understand. We all like what we like, that is not shallow. It is personnel choice. I am not a lover of TB they just don't tick my box. I see little point in getting a horse which is not really what you want, in an ideal world our horses will have a home for life, so you need to choose the right one in the right place. That is not shallow, that is a calculated choice.
 
I have friends with a black IDx 2yr old colt for sale, very very reasonably priced...he is 2 though, but at least you wouldnt have to wait as long for him to be ready to do things with. Sadly he will be entered for the sale at the end of the month as they need to seriously cut down before the winter sets in.

I agree, its no different from me wanting another Arab...or Jo Bloggs wanting a section A. They are just being colour specific rather than breed specific.
 
No problem with someone looking for specifics but usually people can be more specific than the OP.

Wanting a middleweight and then asking about cob types when looking for a "black beauty" foal doesn't add up.


OP just what do you want to end up with?
In my mind a "Black Beauty" would be a hunter or riding horse type, no feather and at least half TB or maybe a QH or PBA? Certainly not a driving breed.

I'm pretty sure OP is after 'a' Black Beauty, not 'the' Black Beauty, i.e. a nice horse who happens to be black! She wants a MW so her OH may be able to ride it in the future.

IMO far better to put some consideration into finding the right horse than buying on impulse; how often do we hear on these boards of people buying on impulse/sympathy and getting into lots of trouble...
 
my gods people really do nit pick.... the op has stipulated a black medium weight horse to make between 14.3 and 15.3. if they haven't stipulated a specific discipline I would imagine it's for a bit of everything.... the reference to 'black beauty' surely just means a good looking black horse??!!!?!?!?! Why is this shallow??? Now ok they maybe passing over alot of good horses by being specific to colour, but if in the end they find the right horse does it matter, it just might take a little longer than not being specific on colour! I had one person once come and see a horse which was perfect for her and she passed it up because it didn't have 4 white socks and a star, now that's shallow imo!!!!!

Thank you, you have got it in one! It's silly that just a simple request has to turn into again something where people take it to the next level. I will again say sorry to those who I have offended by stating my perference in colour. And a huge thank you to those who have helped, and understood what the heck I was going on about. I will be looking into each one of these avenues suggested tomorrow evening when I have far too much time on my hands :D.
