I'm looking for a quiet yard around the hertford area, DIY or grass livery. Ideally would like somewhere that offers 24/7 grass livery as she doesn't really need to be stabled especially over the summer. Would need a menage and decent hacking. Any help would really be appreciated as this seems quite hard to find!

Cheers for the tip, I'll look into petasfield. I'm aware that grass livery is difficult to find so would be prepared to go DIY stabling instead if need be, just seems silly when I dont really need it!

Hi, I used to be at Alan Fitzjohn's (Home Farm), Bayford Lane, just outside Hertford. Very nice stables but only nightime turnout in the summer. It is DIY. You get ad lib hay and straw in your livery there and small group turnout, it has a decent menage and walker too. Try looking round Brickendon area I remember once seeing an ad for grass livery there and someone from old yard moved their retired horse there.

Thanks for the reply. What a coincidence, i have actually just looked at home farm and it seems decent so considering that :) Yeah, I know I've seen ads for grass livery around the villages in the past but typically none when i'm looking for them!

p.s, found out that petasfield doesn't do livery anymore!

I cant help with the Menage situation but im in Hertford too and have just found a field in Chapmore end I have been to view it and its lovely 5acres with 2 shelters and straight on to Bridlepaths. I was going for it but I can now keep my Boy where he is. The man who owns it is lovely and he also has someone else interested in sharing it with someone so you wouldnt be on your own! Let me know if you want details.

Giving this a bump again as still looking for a good DIY yard with decent grazing. Any more help much appreciated :)
