Looking for horses/owners with unusual talents for a new BBC entertainment programme

One of mine IS going to be on the telly, they are filming him on saturday!
Not for his talents though.

Can't wait till this is on the TV...will be great to watch some funny/clever animals in action!

I have a gelding who will 'fetch' whichever object you tell him to, e.g. the fork, the brush or the broom. He will also pick up a grooming brush and groom your back with it. He will lift his front legs up on command, can also scrape the floor according to the number you tell him. He will turn a circle on the whistle command and if you say 'show me your bum' he will turn his back end towards you. If you say 'pick it up', he will pick up any object that is near him on the floor, such as food bowls, comes in quite handy if you drop a whip out hacking! If say 'up and down', whatever object is in his mouth is waved up and down. If there is an object in the field that he thinks shouldn't be there, he will pick it up and put it in the poo box in the field (friends think they have lost headcollars but in reality just need to look in the poo boxes!).

He is a character and a lovable rogue. He has never been forced into learning any of the above, just offered a food reward as a well done.
I love the sound of your horse "fetching" objects on command and brushing his human! Perhaps you could message me your contact details so we can have a bit more of a chat about the programme?

Thanks,
Fran

My OH is Michael Peace he is ‘probably the best Horse Whisperer in the World’ of cause I am biased, but every horse that he works with has a story.

He went to South Africa to work with a racing stallion that would not cover his mare’s (the stallion would jump off before finishing the job). Michael got him calm and cured the anxiety now there are several foals born this year. He also worked a stallion entered for the Epsom Derby that the trainer had said needed to be gelded as he was dangerous he came for schooling and went on to race as a stallion, but did not win the Derby. Just a few, many more success stories all on going.

I tried to teach mine to gay gordon once... got stuck at the waltzing bit ;)

He has a small (increasing) repertoire of tricks, though probably nothing out of the ordinary enough to be interesting... Perhaps one day when he's a bit older some nice TV company might be interested!

Me, me, me!

My dog can ride! Yes, she can, for miles on my Icelandic horse! She loves it!

Proof:-

Here she is asleep on a Shetland

She is brilliant, loves it and is very happy to sit onboard - in fact asks if she can!

She prefers the Icelandics to the Shetlands.

Here is a very bad film of her riding in our school. (she hasn't got her happy face on and was sulking a bit!) Diva!

She also has an antique basket saddle which she quite likes!

She is called Be-Anne Duvet, by the way and she is a 5yo Patterdale Terrier!

Anyway, if you want to find out more about her, phone me on 01595 809 432 or email frances@fstaylor.co.uk - I would be most happy and have loads of photos!

(sorry, totally pushy parent, here!)

My god that dog rides better than me! Sweet though. :D

Fabulous, your dog is like a much more confident version of mine! He gets bored and dismounts after a few minutes

No special talents here, but I just wanted to say, WOW Frances144 that is one talented (and adorable) horse-riding terrier! :D

My Andalusian is a bit of a character. He's totally bombproof and will quite happily come in your house, climb steps, he once climbed over one of those big square bales of hay whilst I was sitting on him (thought he just wanted a snack). He also makes a noise like he's blowing a rasberry/farting when in fact he's "sucking" a rasberry. Many people have said he should be taught tricks cos he will do anything. He picks up big plastic food bags full of rubish and shakes them all over the place scattering any horse within 20ft!

We have a shetland x pony that thinks he is part of the family.

He can open the back patio door by biting on the handle and pulling it, and then he walks into the kitchen where he makes straight for the breadbin. He grabs the loaf of bread and if it is in a bag, he crunches it all up first then tips the bag onto the floor so he can get at it. If I haven't spotted him by then, he heads for the fruit bowl to see what we have in there.

He will steal bread from the bird table, and can lick off the crumbs by turning his head sideways. He will stand at the table while we are seated in the kitchen, and eat slices of mango/whatever quite patiently - makes a mess though. He even slurps soup off a spoon - gazpacho since you were about to ask.

He will load and unload himself into our lorry whenever we come back from a show, to hoover up any leftovers he can find.

He also has a stroppy streak, and if he doesn't want to be caught from the field, he will run at you snapping his teeth - I haven't yet caught this on video, but will send out my unsuspecting daughter tomorrow and try to get it.

I have all the others on video - some are already on youtube :)

Haha well one of mine has this amazing talent of scaring everyone... that count?? But if you run at him he stops dead and squares up to you (16 never going to change that one) :p!!

The other more serious one is my little (17hh) circus pony, he will do mini rears on command, throws his head around when i shake my hand, runs backwards/sideways/fowards (literally run its not a gait) from the ground or with a rider on command and is unfortunatley so incredibly bright (I wanted a thick one) I could teach him to do almost anything, he yawns on command, bites on command and picks up bad/naughty habits to evade doing whatever it is I want him to do on a daily basis.....
