Hi all!

I am doing an article on Hunting - the changes after the ban, autumn hunting, and drag hunting. I'm finding it incredibly hard to find any fairly "neutral" sources of information on hunting - I just want to state the facts and let people make their own minds up.

I'm also looking to talk to two people, one draghunter and one from "traditional" hunting. Anyone interested?

Thanks all!

Sorry to sound unhelpful, but I think you'll find it very hard to find neutral views. Anyone who is interested in the subject usually has an opinion on it.
Robert Kilroy Silk said that when he had his TV show there were 3 subjects on which participants could find no compromise:
Muslims v. Jews
Catholics v. abortion
Pro hunting v. antis

Anyway, good luck!

I agree with Peakpark here. Also, lets be honest:we are 'at war' with the anti hunting organisations, so you are not going to get impartial information from anyone.

Lets just hope that truth, justice and right will prevail and in future years we will look back on this time when our traditions and birthright were being attacked by evil, as a nightmare from which the country has woken up from.

"Lets just hope that truth, justice and right will prevail and in future years we will look back on this time when our traditions and birthright were being attacked by evil, as a nightmare from which the country has woken up from. "

now now, you're trying to bias things.

"birthright"
What about the animals birthright?
"traditions"
Why do hunters hide behind tradition? We (as a contry) used to do some strange things as a tradition but not anymore as we have evolved, moved on to more realistic things.
It is a tradition in some countries to throw goats from churhes or have the heaviest person on the village ride a donkey until it died.
These traditions, like hunting, should be stopped and left in the past.

"attacked by evil"
How can people STOPPING cruelty to animals be evil?

I agree with peakpark on this one though, there will never be a middle ground and it is impossible to find information on hunting that can't be discredited by the other side.
So many surveys have been done, some saying it is needed, some saying it's not, some surveys saying it is cruel, some saying it is not.

All I can say at this moment is killing an animal for "sport" cannot be right.

"attacked by evil"
How can people STOPPING cruelty to animals be evil?

Because they often hate people, are cruel to people, and actually are cruel to ainmals as well - remember the arson attack on the kennels of the Essex and Suffolk. That's evil.

"Because they often hate people, are cruel to people"
Are we back to generalising?

"remember the arson attack on the kennels of the Essex and Suffolk"
To be honest, no.
There is no excuse for threatening people, harming people or animals, if AR people did this to the kennals (I am assuming that dogs were hurt/killed or you wouldn't mention it) then they are wrong for doing it and should be punished for it.

As you might have gathered I am against hunting in all it's forms but would never call anyone evil because of it, blood thirsty barbarians possibly but not evil.

I think "often" is still generalising, "sometimes" or "some people" might be more accurate.

From the article it says no animal was hurt, yes they might have been and that was wrong.
Any action that causes harm or distress to animals should not happen.

As for
"We are trying our hardest to hunt within the law and have done everything that has been asked of us, yet these people continue to make our lives a misery."
I, as well as many others, will not stop calling for the complete stop to hunting in any form, so just because they claim to be following the rules doesn't stop us from trying to stop it.

"Killing an animal for sport is wrong."

So why is it OK to shoot them then? In hunting it is hounds that do the hunting and killing (or did). A quarry being hunted by a predator.

In shooting man is the hunter and doing the killing.

"I, as well as many others, will not stop calling for the complete stop to hunting in any form, so just because they claim to be following the rules doesn't stop us from trying to stop it."

Many others?

I shouldn't think there are enough active antis for one to attend each hunt out on a normal Saturday.

"So are you saying I should not dip or shear my sheep ?"
Yep. Keeping and using animals for our use is wrong and shouldn't continue.

"Many others?"
Sorry but I dont have exact numbers.

"So why is it OK to shoot them then?"
It isn't, ALL forms of hunting should be stopped.
