All of those of that style are identical, as far as I can tell.

The switch for the one I had, to turn on the LEDs, was also in a useless place. Like between the front legs. If you can’t reach it on a 14hh Highland while on board, you’re not reaching on anything else.

It also looks like there is a battery box and circuit in each of the three sections. I suppose this has an advantage in that if one fails for any reason (batteries run out, for example), the others would still work. But it also means three switches that could fail, and I bet it'd be hard to find a replacement battery box and switch.

Probably would be but I would switch it on before I board. Or alternatively I can make my own lol

The electronic part of it is really simple. I think that the difficult part would be sewing it, making sure that the wiring is robust enough to cope with being folded and unfolded, and keeping out the water.

Steady LED lighting takes no electronics. Making LEDs flash is easy; we did this kind of thing in O-Level technology in the 1980s.

Oh yeah, you had to have 3 USB chargers to charge it. Faffy. And as I said, it barely lasted two months before it would not be recharged.

I wouldn't start in the dark, and there's no point in having LEDs on if it's light because they don't really do anything. So I did want to be able to turn it on without dismounting.

I have one of these and it's worked marvellously for three years without needing a new battery. I'll turn on the downstairs strap before I get on, and turn on the upstairs ones if it gets darker/gloomier while I'm out.
