This is also in the stolen/trace part of the forum but thought I might get some replies in here too...

Just wondering if anyone knows the whereabouts of this horse. About 16hh TB dark bay gelding, four little white socks, star, dodgey hip from being kicked by his mum as a baby, 4 years old. Was in training with John Best where I looked after him, rode him, took him to all his races and generally just loved him! Was going to have him when he finished racing but he then got moved to be training with Tony Carroll. He ran a couple of times and now nothing since March, I heard the owner fell out with the trainer and he was told to move the horse, not sure if this is correct but have seen nothing of him since hearing this. I've emailed Tony Carroll's yard asking after him but have had no reply, can see nothing of him on the website. Racing post still has him down as at that yard but no entries. Im not sure where else to look! I just want to know where he is and what he's up to if hes no longer in training.

I would ring the trainer and ask, easier to ignore/forgot to reply to emails than phone calls. Also have you checked the sales records? And incase he is now out of racing maybe try posting on the ex racers forum? There is a looking for section there and lots of people with retired racers as well as stable staff/ex stable staff look on there.
 
Might be worth dropping an email to Steve Nunn as he might know where he is.

Must admit I thought you were looking for My Les who's in Surrey!

This is possibly a very numpty question - but why would A W Carroll be listed as both the trainer and owner? Just the results of a quick stroll through google... :)
 
Steve doesnt know where he is, I used to talk to him a bit when MML was in training and when he left we kept in touch keeping an eye on him.

Annabel, didn't know there was an ex racers forum, I'll definitely post there! Thanks.

Ladydragon, A W Carroll doesn't actually own him, hes just in his name as far as I know, I'm not sure why but it happens quite a lot in racing.

Thanks for that...it just seemed really odd... But maybe it's just one of those 'common but unexplained' things...:D

I'd definitely go with the suggestion of phoning the last known trainer - you might get a more specific response than waiting around for an email that might not be classed as important...

:)
 
Thanks guys, have tried to post on the ex racehorses forum but it's messing around a bit! Im a wuss when it comes to phoning people but I will make myself do it tomorrow :)
