if you were selling would you look at wanted adverts or not? just wondering whether i should put a wanted advert up or not to bother as they do cost on websites, or has anyone found there horse thru a wanted ad???

Or just give an outline of what you are looking for, with your budget and you'll find people will post links to adverts... nothing hho'ers like more than horse shopping for other people

No wouldn't look at wanted ads in all honesty!!

If you lot like to play that game, want to find a buyer? We have a 15.1hh 5yo coloured mare for sale!

I've rung people in the past, when I've been selling horses, when they've advertised "wanted". I find that if the ad is very specific about what they want, there is no horse in the world that suits them. They've probably been looking for ages and got more and more fussy. If they are less specific, then they don't really know what they want & are probably hoping the perfect horse will materialise in the next village for half price! I don't want to sound cynical - I'm sure there are genuine "wanted" advertisers out there, I just haven't come across them.

When my friend was looking she put a free wanted ad on stabletalk and did get some responses. None of them turned out to be what she was looking for, more "Please buy my horse, its lovely really".

okay

i'm looking for something 14.2 up to have fun on. must must not be nappy or unwilling. don't mind (actually prefer!!) forward going/fizzy/spooky as long as its safe. must be good in open spaces as my hacking is all off road. to do all RC stuff but don't expect a hickstead potentail horse. sex doesn't matter (in regards to horse gender!!!!!!!) nor does colour. good to load, clip etc, gen uncomplicated. no skin conditions like sweetitch or sarcoids but would not dismiss mild cribbing. age wise happ to consider 7 yrs upwards or mid teens. just needs to be fun, forward, happy and healthy!!! anyone selling simlar or know of anything PM me, i'm in oxfordshire and willing to travel a bit, my budget is apprx 3-4k inc tack.x

oh and your foal is sooooooooo cute!!

Shame my girl has gone lame, otherwise I would have said that she fits exactly in your criteria. Has done everything, but is by no means boring, 10 yo and was planning on putting her up for 3850 including tack and rugs..... I'll ket you know if whatever the cause of the lameness is is not serious and easily sorted.

I wouldn't contact a wanted advert as the people always seem to be so specific and if youv'e already got a horse advertised on the same website i would think that if they liked him they would have contacted

this is good advice - i was considering putting a wanted up as my horse died a few weeks ago very suddenly and i am getting to the agitated state with nothibg to do but i think i will ring buyers to be honest now xx
