Hello,
I don't use my HH account very often as I tend to use another international forum but for this question I need people from Scotland :)

My friend and I are looking into hiring a 2 horse trailer for the summer season to do some local competeing, beach rides etc. She is able to tow and has a car suitable to do so but unfortunetly we just don't have the finance to buy one this summer.

I found a site willing to hire and ifor williams trailer for £300 for the summer season, but it was based in England so it wasn't practical. I am looking for somewhere in Scotland which offers the same service. I am based near Glasgow.

Thanks in advance
Kay

Sorry to jump your thread but could you pass on the details of the english one? I want to buy something ideally as a project but the right things aren't coming up right now and I didn't realise this was an option.

And good luck on your search too :)

What about Jenkins in Ayr? I know they sell but maybe they would also hire? I also think the grl at Meadowhead farm in Auldhouse hires, not sure f just to her yard but might be worth a call - just outside East Kilbride.

How about buying one from Ebay and then selling it after the summer season. A nice 2nd hand Ifor will hold its value pretty much, if you're lucky you might even make a profit.

I got a lovely Ifor 505 from Ebay, but do be take all the usual precautions when buying from Ebay.

There's a trailer place in Skirling near Biggar. Forget the name but widely advertised in Equi Ads etc and a distributer for Equitrek. You would get the details from them. I think he does trailer hire.

I was going to say similar.
Would it be worth buying one and then selling it at the end of the season?

As much as we would love to buy a trailer we simply don't have the money to actually purchase one even if i was to later sell. As both full time students working part time and owning money eating horses its not an option for me and my friend. Unfortunetly untill i graduate in 2 years and have a proper job teaching (which will be hard to find the way things are currently going) i can only afford to hire :(.

Apologies, never thought about the initial purchase money. I was thinking the same as the other poster, buy one now and then sell at the same price or more at the end of the season and get the trailer free or even make a few pounds.
