Hoping some of you lovely peeps maybe able to help me out. I'm very lucky in that my horses are kept at my Mum and Dad's place just outside of Knutsford. We have four horses between us and my Mum does most of the day to day stuff as I work full time. However my Mum needs a double hip replacement operation and is obviously going to be completely out of action for a while and then needs to take things easier. So do I...
a) try and fit in doing all four myself at Mum and Dad's
b) find some livery/ a yard to rent for mine to ease Mum's work load
c) find someone to help out at my Mum's
Option a) would mean the least upheaval and is obviously the cheapest but it's 20 mins in the wrong direction from work and I'm already doing a 55-60 hour week so I think I'd really struggle. Also if they are all still at home I think my Mum won't be able to resist 'just doing' and ending up hurting herself.
Option b) would mean me moving at least 2 possibly 3 horses so obviously is going to be an expensive and I haven't paid livery for about 15 years! If I could find somewhere with a turnout/part livery service I could probably make it work.
Option c) would be ideal but am I going to find anyone freelance who will be prepared to do four totally average horses and what could I expect to pay? Again it won't get round my Mum thinking she is Superwoman - I have visions of her trying to muck out on crutches.
I'm really just brain storming so ANY ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received especially any feedback from anyone who has had to have a similar operation.
