Someone on the yard asked me today if Daisy has ever had laminitis. She hasn't in the 18 months I've had her because I manage her very carefully just in case and as far as I know she never has done.

She commented several times that her Auntie was quite convinced that Daisy had had laminitis. Can you tell a horse that has had it in the past from 10m away in a field as it stands eating or is she talking nonense? I think she looks happy and healthy...

Bloody lami, I'm having to keep a close eye on Micks at the moment with all the rain and the lovely green grass coming up. He is so much skinnier than this time last year though so I think he will be ok. Wouldn't wish it on anyone, and certainly wouldn't go around speculating about other peoples horses having it!

No, but it's something we all need to keep an eye out for. It's usually the horses we least expect to get it, atm those turned out after a summer competing, on the rich October flush of grass. I'm paranoid about lami

but maybe that's not such a bad thing. Theevil thing about lami is it can strike any horse at any time.
