ps i hope you can see the pics im rubbish with computers! :D

im in berkshire, the two pics i put on are holme trakehners which are on thier website but there doesnt seem to be any around for sale! buying horses these days seems to be abit of a mine field!, what the good and bad points about yours caz89 as iv never had a trakehner but always wanted one but iv heard they can be a little clever for thier own good! :D

I love them and tbh will probably only ever get Trakehners now lol! He is very well schooled you are right they are clever, he isn't the best jumper in the world but he deffinatley isn't bad, I think they are better for dressage tbh. They are a very beautiful breed :D Good luck with your search

I have a Trakehner too. Really love the breed now. She was imported from Germany.

They are extremely clever and can be very sharp. Talented, trainable, naughty, funny, dominant, spooky, silly, intelligent, fabulous movement, tricky, addictive.

I think mine is my horse of a lifetime, if I was looking for another horse, it would definately be another Trakehner.

When my mum was at YHL she picked up a card for a Trakehner stud in Warwickshire she said the ladies who run it were lovely people and seemed really nice. Well priced aswell.

I think some of the stallions look amazing aswell and they said if theres nothing on the website it is worth giving them a ring as they may have one which isn't on website yet :)

I work at the trakehner stud where those two photo's were taken and I am the one holding the one at the top!!

pm me if you want info on any of the horses.

I have one for sale, he is quite small at about 15.2hh, though I think he'll fill out and grow a bit more. He is 5, he is going to be outstanding at dressage I think, and he can jump too. I only have this bit of footage of him at the moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3DN0n_zvg4. He is a lovely horse to have around and sit on, does hacks and cuddles too!

ets: he is EH Lehndorff's x EH Itaxerxes

I have a Lithuanian horse out of a trakehner mare and agree with some of the above - he is clever (too clever sometimes!), talented, trainable, funny, intelligent, moves very well but is definetely not sharp, spooky, tricky or silly. He's also bold and brave.

Don't know if it's the stallion's influence (a Russian Budyonny) or he's just the exception to the rule, but he is usually very laid back. When I was looking at him and heard he was out of a trakehner was a bit wary but he is such a fun horse - very happy and jolly. Definetely not what I expected - always considered trakehners to be professional horses.
