Looking to buy

I am looking to buy a 15-15'2 medium weight 6-12yr old for hacking / pleasure rides for myself (mum) and double as 1st horse for daughter to grow into over next 2-3 years. hunting, XC unafilliated SJ etc, Looking to spend up to £3K would appreciate any feedback. Must be able to live out with gelding during summer & be stabled overnight in winter with turn out during day. Load into trailer, good to handle etc. Seen a couple but sold really quickly, am I too fussy???

Not fussy, but would have to get in quick if you are to stand a chance..... at that price they will either be not exactly what you want or gone!!!!

Can I ask where abouts you are based and how far you are prepared to travel as may know the answer but a tad over the 3k

Put an ad in H & H with a box number, that way you get animals that havent even been advertised yet. Stress that it will be a long term home and the facilities you have and a £ figure that you cannot go over. Ask for pics and any other relevant info and promise to reply to all responses. Be completely honest about your requirements.

I dont think you will be disappointed - always works for me, although you will have to travel a fair way in all probability to see the ones you like.

Hi, I thought I would reply as i had the exact same spec as you. Except I needed a gelding and I wanted a black/darkbay. My advice to you is be careful. I saw a beautiful 15.1hh 9yro black gelding on a website for £3500. He was a medium weight cob whos been there and done that. He was advertised as an allrounder and done various things etc. I rang the dealer and asked him to hold this horse for me for 2 weeks as he sounded ideal. When I eventually got down there (3 hour drive) he was in such a mess I couldn't bare to see ANY animal in that state let alone a horse. He was under fed and his nose was dragging along the floor (literally). He had a lovely kind eye which is important to me and foolishly I paid £3500 for him. He was probably worth around £1000 max. At the end of the day YOU are the customer and YOU are paying. £3000 is a lot of money. (well, to me it is) Just remember that it's you calling the shots and don't trust anybody! Take your time and follow you head not your heart - like me haha Good luck. Turns out he is fab at his job just has SEVERE sweetich woops!
