Hey everyone...sorry if this has been discussed before...
My horse (Signature pic) has been in full-time for the past month, getting out to stretch his legs for an hour in the afternoon and then usually most of the weekend (as i don't want him seizing up but fields are too bad to be out as much as i would like.)
Anyhoo...I noticed his fetlocks looked abit puffy on sunday night, then sister went to muck out yesterday and foned me to say he had been standing in same spot for hours and both hind legs were swollen right up to his hock and he wouldn't let her anywhere near them.
Rushed home, and pulled him out of stable to have proper look, thankfully he trusts me enough to let me touch them...
They look really sore, swollen up quite badly and slightly warm and have noticed the front one is going the same way.
Last winter his fetlocks used to swell very slightly, one at a time. He doesnt look lame on them but doesnt love having them touched.
I dont want to cold-hose them yet as i was told this could make him stiff and even more sore.
Anyone have any idea what this may be/ have similar problems? or any suggestions?
x
