My last 2 rounds of hay have been really green and its upset both of mine, I had them both on quick fix and protexin but did nothing so started gut sponge 3 days ago and Louis is marginally better but Arabi is awful terrible faecal water.

Arabi got really stressed from the hunt a few weeks back which didn't help it sort of tied in with the green hay, although his got over the hunt saga now I can't seem to get his gut calm.

I've ordered a less green bale tomorrow and I can just feed a bit of the green along side with that and hope it calms down.

But has anyone got any ideas of what I can try, I have got some activated charcoal that I've used before but I don't normally have this problem fir more than a few days.

I had H on it perhaps five days before he showed improvement
He has always been prone runny issues and not thriving when he arrived.
I first tried gut sponge in autumn last year
H has awful time he had to have a major dental procedure and had some weeks of a serious infection in this sinuses before they did what they did in his mouth
He has lot of medication not registered for he always delicate digestive system was really suffering
The gut sponge helped I withdrew it after a month and sharp put him back on it and settled again
It’s clear he has a bowel issue that he will have to live with and I keep the gut sponge to hand and start it at the first sign of trouble .

Ok thank you it's only been a few days and I'm hoping the hay I get tomorrow will help as it all started when this real green stuff arrived, so I will continue with it anyway and hopefully it will improve.

Bit of an update I started feeding the new hay yesterday morning and both have really improved on the loose droppings front, so I'm happy that it was mainly all down to the green hay, so I will continue with gut sponge and new hay then next week just gradually add small amounts of the green stuff.

Luckily his got a good stock of this hay so I will order that for the foreseeable.

Thanks for you help 😊
