Hey guys!

My new horse has loose poo, it’s brown/geeenish in colour and looks like a cow pat, he is new to me and arrived last weekend.

It happened the day he arrived and then was normal then I’ve noticed it a couple times since, usually when I’m leading him from the field

I’m after an opinion on if it’s his food or just situational stress
He doesn’t have any other issues, eating his food and excretes regularly. He’s out on grass all day, full haynet overnight and is fed a mix of sugarbeet,Alfa a oil, rolled barley and micronised linseed, as well as a half scoop of the general feed stores mix
Hes a TB

Any advice appreciated

Probably the spring grass. If it’s not all the time I’d just monitor and it’ll probably clear up as his digestion settles to his new diet. I’m presuming he’s been wormed recently?

I’d think it’s down to a change of diet. I’d just stick to a straight mix…if it’s a decent one he shouldn’t need any extras. You can just add a gut balancer to this.

I thought so too, not wormed yet, will be once he’s moved to his summer field in the next couple weeks

Do you have any suggestions on a good mix, I’m trying to put weight and condition on him so trying to give high protein
