Driving to turn Ed out this AM and spot some neddies in the distance. No surprise, we live in a riding area. Only these are foals, loose on the main road

Damn it, better go see what I can do. As I near a huge artic looms over them and I'm gritting my teeth. Luckily driver is kind and stops to watch them run through some undergrowth into a housing estate.

Sigh.

On go my hazards and I'm out, a lone wolf versus two very scraggy looking foals, both with those rope halter on, dragging on the floor between their skinny little legs. They have little glue patches where I guess they've had stickers on. And they are coming any where near me!!

Swines.

By the grace of god they have run into someones drive. I lock the gates behind them (Oh I would have been popluar at that point) and go to knock on the door.

"Hi. I have put these foals in your garden, can they stay until someone can come and get them? They are scared see, and they'll only cause an accident on the road"

"Ohhh the foals, yes, I saw them this morning, couldn't catch them though"

(Ah so leave them get killed or kill someone else eh?) Well she was an older lady and I guess she didn't want to get involved.

Then from the back room in her house someone bellows
"Put them in the field then!!!!"

Old lady says "If you can get them in there, they can stay there"

Anyway, cut a long story short, using my car, two gates, my coat and scarf and some ingenuity, I made a run to get the foals from her drive, into her paddock.

Here are the little broncos (ASW - alternative swear word

Who will eternally be known as, Scrote Foals

Well done you!!!

Quite a few people must have driven by and ignored them by the sounds of things! I can't imagine what people were thinking. I can appreciate that non-horsey people would not want to get directly involved but surely they could call the police?!

Have you found the owners?

I wouldnt have thought so, they look like quite nice little horses actually.

Turns out scary farmer guy thinks he knows who owns them, so he stopped me from calling the police.

Maybe he's going to keep them, they are very cute
