I want to take Archie loose jumping somewhere, as i think he'd love it and it would give him a change.

Thing is i have no idea what im doing when it comes to loose jumping, and i would only do it in an indoor school (i know a couple of places near me that do it, but they have outdoors and im worried he'd jump out of the arena

)

Anyways, does anyone know anywhere near me (like a stud or something) that does a lot of loose jumping, with an indoor school, and might help/assist me in loose jumping Archie?

Im in Salisbury, Wiltshire and will travel up to 2hrs in the horse box to somewhere decent.

Im not up on my jumping so dont really know any studs near me that specialise in showjumping.

I had been looking for just the same thing recently for Spider.

When he goes for grading next year he will have to be loose jumped and the fence round my school is not very high!!!
Also, it's not something that I've done before so want him to have the best start so that he is confident.

I looked for warmblood studs/producers that take horses in for grading and have found a lovely one just about 2hrs from me.

But a long way from you though!

I am sure people on here will come to the rescue but you could also try contacting the warmblood societies, BWBS, Trakehner, AES and also the SHB(GB) to ask for reccommendations in your area.

Might be worth asking in the Breeding Forum too.

Thank You!

There is a yard 5mins walk from mine that does loose jumping, but its an outdoor arena and the fence isnt very high - i think once he got into the swing of things he'd probably just jump straight out!!

What about Grovely?

For ideas on what toset up look at the videos of horses jumping on the 'posh' auction sites. It is usually a cross to set them up and then 1/2 strides to a spread

I did actually loose jump my last horse in the beginning before he got ill. I did make up my own "tunnel" as such but found that you did need 2/3 people to help you. One to lead through the tunnel so the horse understands where he is going. Then I added trot poles, still leading him over etc... then I let him loose and just one pole with person at end to catch/reward etc.. He found it great fun... I then added a small x-pole.. when I let him go there was also someone there to use whip just to ensure he kept going etc... and like I said, someone at the end...that way there was no jumping out as they do tend to go straight as long as you have helpers to keep them going.
