So Archie monster is going loose jumping on sunday with Lottie Prentice - which im REALLY excited about

Anyways, what does he need to be wearing as i have no idea?

So i know over reach boots and tendon boots. Can he wear his SMB Elite boots on the back as ive no doubt that he will behave like an idiot at some point and they are really good boots and offer loads of protection. Or are they too bulky to loose jump in? (they do fit him perfectly).

Then the bridle - im guessing his normal bridle, but i take the reins off?

Bridle (minus reins) or a head collar. Definitely boot up all round and over reach boots as if he's anything like Ernie he'll be hooning around like an idiot (though I'm not calling A an idiot of course

And yes, no doubt idiot features will hoon around like an idiot! Hes hardly jumped at all, altho i do pole work once a week in our schooling. Hes really nervous of the poles, so im hoping loose jumping will build his confidence as he wont have me sat on his back riding like an idiot (i hate jumping!!)

Bearing in mind Archie is petrified of coloured poles that aren't lying flat on the floor - i think naked apart from a headcollar might be slightly interesting to say the least!!!!

well i trust her shes not too loopy:) and we didnt boot her up as we wanted to see how she woud deal with jumping a fence the second time; is she hit it the first.......turns out shes a very strange horse loose jumping!!

i would love to see some pics, im sure he will be a natural:)
 
boots all round, and a headcollar, or ideally nothing at all on the head. i wouldn't loose-jump one in a bridle.
one thing i've found when taking them loose-jumping is that most people can't be bothered to warm them up properly, they just give them 5 mins then start putting the jumps up, which horrifies me. so, maybe take your tack and offer to warm him up under saddle first. just an idea, because i'm always terrified of muscle/tendon/ligament damage, and i'd never start jumping after only 5 mins under saddle.
 
Im sure Lottie would make sure A is warmed up properley before they start jumping.

Altho i was just thinking about lunging first, hadnt thought about riding....Will probably end up lunging to warm up tho.

Ive been told that he has to be a bridle so we can catch him at each end. I was really just wondering about boots tbh.
