Hi,
I’m looking to change my horse over from a loose ring French link to a loose ring with a lozenge. She’s got a really lovely soft mouth but can show some evasion at times which I think is down to the tongue pressure of the French link. Is there a difference in the pressure these two lozenge mouthpieces expel? Are copper lozenges reccomended also? Thanks

The only difference is that the second bit sits flatter on the tongue so could be thought of as better for a fussy mouth or fleshy tongue.

I use a Neue Schule tranz angle lozenge baucher snaffle on the old horse. He's a naturally jolly chap, and can throw some shapes and evasions when wishing to evade schooling. He'd far rather be going somewhere very fast indeed, preferably in a straight line!
Using the NS bit seems to have a gentle squeeze "slow down, dear" effect without getting into an unwanted squabble. If he gets a bit grumpy, there's no way I'm going to win that battle.
He reverts to juvenile tantrum mode and gets to fast forward at warp speed, stops dead, does a polo pony swerve and tanks off again. Not a restful ride . . .
