I have tried and tried to lunge Shy, but it just wasn't working. We were both getting thoroughly unhappy, lunge reins were flying everywhere, and let's just say I needed me hard hat

So yesterday, I thought well b***** it, what's the worst that can happen if I take the lunge line off ? Well it was fab - he knows my vocal commands from breaking him in riding, and we had walk, trot and canter around the outside of the school (no turning in at all) ......so proud :)

Today I thought I'd add a little jump to do at trot, and he flew over it. He seems so much happier now we are both talking the same language.

Definitely worth a try if, like Shy, your horse turns in, and refuses to co-operate with the lunge line.
