Can anyone give me advice on how to teach my yearling to loose school ?
He is going to a Futurity and I do not want to look like a complete idiot when I let him go and he runs into a corner and tries to roll !!!
I am imagining the futurity will be in an indoor school ? Will it be the whole school or will part of it be roped off ? I dont have an indoor school at home and would not know where to go to rent one so will have to work round that somehow !
Any advice/tips would be great. Thank You.

Would suggest working in hand first to get him used to voice command, then moving onto gently lunging him on a large circle.
Have a second person with you when you first let him loose and encourage him to work around you. Try not to get too close to him but send him away from you using voice and lunge whip and plenty of praise when he does well.
Keep the sessions short or he could get bored and just stop. As the idea is you want him to show off his paces and natural exuberance not to make it look like it is a chore for him.
Hope this helps

Thank you, will start the voice commands straight away. He is very good in hand so I am hopefull he will take to it reasonably well, thanks again.
