I wanted to start some loose schooling with my youngster and possibly introduce some loose jumping. I have never done this before...where do i start??!?!?! what should i be doing?
Unclip the leadrope & let him go - see what happens (pref from a safe place e.g. behind a barrier incase he goes nuts).
When he's moving around comfortably, use your voice or a lunge whip to get him moving forward & most horses will willingly gallop with little encouragement.
Set up a jump along a long side of the school & hustle your horse into it until it understands that it's no big deal to jump.
