I'm just interested as have noticed in recent years the unbelievable number of people who have adopted to go "bare foot" with their horses

I have done it with those of mine who have had strong enough feet for some time after advise from a farrier however back then was almost frowned upon - yet it was the best thing for my horse

Now every one is at it (good news!!)

Just interested to know if/why you have ditched the steal? Was there some TV advert I didn't catch or something?!?!?
 
I totally agree with both reasons - just seems that this is a "new" movement

I always used to shoe every thing - you would never see a horse any where without shoes...

Just nice to see unrestricted huufs if they are healthy enough :D
 
I did it cause i was fed up of having a horse with only 1 shoe on within days of farrier being out. The time he pulled both in one afternoon and was sound on all ground i made my decision! 12 months on he is fab and still bare
 
I made the decision to take my mares shoes off as a last ditch attempt to make her feet and body healthy after years of intermittent lameness to which a cause was never found, it was that or give up. So far so good, her feet and body are changing for the better :)
 
Pardon my asking, but do you mean Loose or Lose :confused:

They have a very different meaning.

Loose...not secured correctly
Lose.. As in to lose or lost.

"I did not realise that my horse could lose his shoes if they came loose"
