can some-one explain to me the ins and outs of transporting horses in a lorry.
tax,mot/plate etc?
does one need a operaters licence and if you take a friend what would you need?
thank you

ok...i am a licenced horse/pony transporter.

the plate for a lorry is £40..repairs..whatever!!!!
tax..7.5T..£165.00 per year

ins...variable...

only someone, like myself, needs an operators licence to transport horses/ponies if i take money for doing so.
i have full insurance/accident/breakdown cover

if you want to take your friend, you must be sure that SHE has appropriate ins to cover her horse on your lorry..it isnt your responsiblity..UNLESS you take monies..see above.

the short of it is...she travels for free..and insures her own horse.
