Lorry builders/dealers - SE

Hi,

I've been lorry shopping for a while now but can't seem to find many builders/dealers in the the South East with the exception of McNeill.

I'm after a compact 7.5t on a new a chassis as poss so any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I've already been in contact with Select Horseboxes, JM and Kevin Parker and will travel up (from London) to go and have a look, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anyone on my doorstep! Finally any experiences of JM or Kevin Parker again would be welcomed!

Haven't had any experiences of these companies but they were recommeneded to me the other day when i was looking for a 3.5t one in the south east:

Mine was built by C&R Day, they're in Beds. Not ultra fancy, but long-lasting, practical, and will build exactly what you want.

Re McNeill feedback - yes pls!

I have been to see them and they don't have anything in at the mo but could look to source me a chassis - unfortunately I'm not very good at waiting!

OH didn't really seem to impressed when I tried to discuss the lovely 2 horse Oakley that they have in for £96k + vat. Not sure why...??

i've got a C&R Day, it's pretty good but he's a nightmare to deal with after the purchase, tbh.

Really? We never had to go back to them - we had it built for use abroad so obviously maintenance was carried out there. My jockey door's on the "wrong" side, and the horses face the "wrong" way.

mine had to go back for a few things, and he wasn't exactly nice about it...

one of those companies where "customer service" ends after you've handed over the £££s, i think.

still, it's still very solid and going strong. the effing water heater never ever has worked though, and the roof leaked from the start, in spite of going back 2 or 3 times for both things to be put right. oh well, at least i like cold showers when i'm hot and sweaty in the summer!

I have a 27 year old C & R day and it is still going strong.

There is also Priory Stud is Essex who are very reputable family company and also Mr Lennox who is not far from you. There is of course Oakley at High Cross in Ware Herts.
