Something that really put me off it at the first viewing! but they popped a horse on who stood perfectly and i asked around every horsey person i know's opinions and everyone said not a problem and lots of boxes have this.
It was the only decent one within budget we had seen and so we purchased it.
Now of course I'm worried! My daughters pony loads well and is a bit of a loud bangy traveller who dislikes standing still and now I'm panicking that its because she cant stand square because a few times we have arrived and lowered the ramp she's been stood a bit awkwardly looking.
It's like a metal checkerboard box, probably a foot high and square with a thick layer of plastic covered padding on the front facing the horse (rear facing box). When we bought it, this was perfectly new looking and undamaged and now the plastic padded bit is a bit ripped and there is a dent on the boxing. This is absolutely fine, I'm not at all being prissy about the damage (heck, you should see some of the ding's I've put on the outside!!) but I'm really worried we've just spent every penny of our savings on a long term box our horse cant travel comfortably in.
Can i travel one horse without the central partition? meaning it can stand in the middle and stand square?
I may be looking far too much into this as she didn't travel great in a trailer either!
Does anyone else have wheel arches in the horse area of their box?

That's a really good idea actually. I have an old camera i could maybe attach somewhere in the back. Its such a lovely little box otherwise and my o/h really splashed out on it for my daughter and i to be more self sufficient so I'm feeling incredibly ungrateful and unable to mention that I'm worried there might be a problem.

I agree with the camera idea you can buy a cheap fisheye reversing camera for under £40 to watch the horse area.

I have an Equitrek lorry and all if them have a wheel arch in the horse area. I have a mare who is a door banger and very handy with her fore legs but once you are moving horses generally settle. You could always cover it in rubber if you are really worried. Mine is also damaged, it's a common thing.

That's very cheap isn't it. Almost worth buying one just to keep an eye on them in general Thanks for that!
Ah really? Ive never seen inside an Equitrek lorry. Im going to google them ;)

Yes it's one of the 2 reported flaws with the Equitrek lorry the wheel arch box easy to damage, I think the new lorries have a domed design over it and the ramp gas struts need replacing every 3 years. I love my lorry I can live with those faults.
I had that camera in my Equitrek trailer it was great.

The Equitrek Sonic has the wheel arches well in front of the horses, the one I have been using is like the one on the link below.

I see no reason why the OP cannot take out the partition and cross tie so the pony can stand where it wants, it may prefer to stand on a slight angle, using a camera will help you see what it prefers then you could possibly put in new tie rings to suit.
