I heard of a friend that apparently if u do a weeks course and a test to drive a 7.5 tonne, you dont have to be 21. the age needed is 18

looked it up on the net and a some websites say that and others say you have to be 21.

i realllllly wanna be able to drive my lorry, it would save so much grief in the family.

does anyone know???

It does cost about £1000 or a little more by the time you have done your week's course and testetc. Not sure on a training centre local to you but maybe google LGV licence training in surrey and see what comes up? You want to do your C1 test - C is the HGV wich you do have to be 21 to do.

Yes you can take your C1 licence at 18. You will need to have a full car licence and pass a medical which will cost you about £80 from your doctor. Do not rush into the driving of the lorry,
pass your theory test first. Once you have passed your theory and HP test you should only required 2/3 days training on a C1 vehicle, its very much like a car only bigger and will only need 5 or 6 gears not a range change gearbox like Cat C. Passing the theory test is the hardest bit as its one theory test for all 3 categories of licence ;ie C1, C, C+E good luck
