Yesterday I took horsebox & horse to trainers in Bridgenorth area. On the way the exhaust gave out & at the moment it's parked up at trainers waiting for an new exhaust to be fitted. I actually live 50 miles from there so it's a big problem for us.:(

We contacted a lorry mechanic in that area, who said he would come today, but he's let us down & failed to arrive. The lorry is supposed to be taking daughter & horse to SCOPE for the week on Saturday. She has worked hard to qualify for various classes & paid a fortune in entries. I don't want to let her down.:(

Does anyone know a mobile lorry mechanic in the Bridgenorth or surrounding area who can sort out an exhaust for a DAF FA45 130 Euro II in the next couple of days. We would be so grateful.

not sure which part of your exhaust has gone but you possibly don't need whole exhaust just a part of it. If you can identify the problem you might be able to source the bit yourself and get a 'strong person' to put it on.

(A strong person to undo bolts!! )

I have actually fitted the box bit myself.. (and I am no mechanic!) The manifold that fixes to the engine is the trickiest part-

Other thing as long as its not dragging (in ehich case either try and get it off or tie it up) although noisy it should still be driveable and may be easier to get fixed if you take it to someone.

Other wise what about trying a commercial breakdown outfir - they may be able to recommend someone or help you themselves.

Egertons rescued me recently and wer absolutely fantastic! They are south of manchester and I have seen their wagon further south on the M6

I assume you got fixed up???

Sorry if i missed out, we are based in Cheshire, and specialise in horse box mechanics and electrics all over the UK.

If you are still stuck, give me a call on 07843 385955.

Regards
Tim.
