I have a 1993, k-reg 7.5t lorry which is coming up to its plate. Do I need to have the new mirrors on the near side to increase visibility or is this only for newer lorries? Thanks.
Its defo 2000 onwards, its just an extra mirror on the passenger side its sits above the big wing mirror and points downwards its all so you can see cyclists and motorbikes that come up quick on your inside next to the pavment. The bit that puzzles me is, why do people driving pre 2000 lorries not need them but post 2000 do? Maybe pre 2000 are allowed to run cyclists over and post 2000 have to be carfull!!!
Steeleydan, i totally agree, it makes no sense at all... my modern cargo is exactly the same as my pre-2000 cargos in lack of visibility down off side. ridiculous to bring the rule in for some and not all... typical of this government though!
