Have had my lovely lorry for just less than a year, but I am going to have to get a bigger one for Barney the Shire. Havnt got a clue what its worth.

Mercedez Atigo built 2000 on W. I bought it from a lorry builder and had living put in. It carries 2 large horses and smaller (up to 15hh). It didnt intimidate me from day one and is very easy to drive, lots of power too. No crawl through, but I've had CCTV put in.

Would really appreciate your help folks. Plus, can anyone recommend a lorry which would take Barney's bulk, plus a 17.1hh and 16.1hh.

Trouble is you dont find many Atigo's. Have been trying to compare for a while. £20k !!! I didnt pay anywhere near that for it

Seriously though, lovely lovely lorry, on a W reg - get to be worth well into the 'teens' of thousands.

The only thing that might detract from the value is lack of crawl-thru/luton area. Otherwise the fact that it is on such a good chassis (mercs always seem to hold their price) should make it a good buy.

My hubby has just sold a couple of Merc Atigos, they are fitted for 6 polo ponies, both on an S plate newly built, no cut through but with camera's, no living just an area by the jocky door for tack. They went for £15,000 + VAT each. Hope that helps. I would look for about £17,500 for it.

Is it a 7.5t? Would you find a 7.5t that would take a shire, a 17.1 and a 16.1 and have space for living? Wonder if you might have to go up to 12t for that? Not saying you would, just thinking out loud!

it is a 7.5tonne, with a glastonite body, no lockers. The last lorry that went out fully fitted was a MAN8163 7.5tonne that had skirt lockers all round, day living and a cutthrough no luton (as this puts up the weight) carried 3 horses. We had it weighed when all the work had been done after it's plating. It weight in at just over 5 tonnes. So the buyer had just under 2.5 tonnes to load onto it.

You will need a HGV if you want to carry what you are proposing. I wouldn't worry about it not being a cut thru cab as you sell it as easy maintenance as it is a tilt cab. Has it got seats behind the main ones in the cab? Have you any photos of the inside?

Will take internal pics tomorrow. OH just said that unladen weight is 4.8 tonnes (he thinks

). Got all service history.

Wouldnt want to change it other than for the big guy and getting his dressage career going. Took 3 to Broomies last year for 3 days, 2 of us slept in living, sooooo comfortable (especially when loads of others were in tents and it hammered down constantly)

You can check your unladen weight from your plating test - if you look at the brake tests print out it weighs the front and back axel and then gives you a total
