Hi, all. About a month ago i bought a lorry. Lovely little lorry perfect for taking daughter to PC and locol shows.
Now the lorry is mechanicly sound and floor ramps sound, but on the outside could do with a bit of beauty treatment;):D.
I want to paint her, shes currently a nasty green colour on the cab and the white is faded on the lorry bit.
Its metal the bits i need to paint and theres a few small rusty bits so will help protect these bits too!!! Can anybody reccomend me what would be good paint to use???
Thanks

For the smaller rusty bits Hammerite (the smooth version) might be a safe bet as it can go straight onto rust. But if you used it for the bigger bits you would probably be bankrupt - they would be better and cheaper sprayed - unfortunately that would mean someone with a proper paint shop unless squashed fly effect is de rigeur....:-)

Im in a kind of similar position with our wee box!

Do not use Hammerite! Any kind of rust needs proper preparation if it is to look any good at all and preferably professionally done other wise you may find it just returns worse than ever.

I've just spoken to my dad and he has said to look into polyurethane quick drying paint goes on with a roller or brush so may look into that.
Just want to give it a tidy up its only a little 3.5 tonne pony lorry so not to a massive a job hopefully anyway!!

It's not bad rust just the odd bobble on the cab it's not rusted through or anything my dads said to get some stuff he's just text the name that seals it!!
Good old dads hey!! :-)
