Lorry partitions - full or part?

Does the lorry your horse travels in have full (down the floor) or part partitions?
I'm a bit unsure about part one's as have heard of a horse slipping over and getting stuck underneath? Also, don't they tread on one another??
 
part, so that they can spread their legs to get better balance. i've heard of them slipping under etc, but i think it's pretty unusual. i've never had one tread on another. you can get rubber skirts that go down almost to the floor from the solid bit of the partition, to protect against them treading on each other.

this is true but i have heard of horses pnaicking with full partitions also trying to stand on the and putting there legs through the partitions where the metal edging is !!!

would choose half partitions every time !!
 
ive heard about the falling over and getting stuck underneath but mine's travelled in both- our old banger lorry is part partitions and so's the trailer he usually goes in. to be honest if u wanted part u might aswell because i doubt you'll be driving that madly that your hrose will fall over unless it was slippery etc etc ..

our lorries have half partitions as standard- with rubber skirts to floor level this encourages - as we feel - safer travelling as quite rightly pointed out before - the horse can spread its legs for better balance- but it really depends on how the individual horse travels - the only times we have done full partitions is for - people who travel mares with foals to stop the foals " slipping underneath the partiton and also those who travel minatures, or the odd customer who has expressed full partitions.
 
Mine is also part. It came with a full one when I bought it, only travelled her once with the full and she kept kicking it while trying to balance - have not had any issues with the part, she is much happier.
 
My own lorry has part partitions and work's has full. My pony travels great in my wagon but whenever she's been in works she really struggles when I break because she can't spread her feet right out. Works ponies, who I've only ever had in the full partition lorry also aren't the best travellers. Although I can't be certain that this is down to the partitions it is my suspicion and I'd never buy a lorry with full partitions.
 
Mine has full partitions and I'm very happy with them. I've never so far had a horse travel badly in her and when I look at replacing her I'm immediately put off by part partitions now. My only gripe with the full partitions is that they are so heavy that I can't get them into or out of the lorry by myself and I do quite often re-configure the inside to suit different animals.
