I need to get my lorry plated, this is the first time i have had to do this so not sure what to do. local horse box firm said i need to put weight in the back of the lorry ? is this right. Any help much appreciated

Are you taking it to the centre outside Downham Market?

If so last year when I rang them they said there was no need BUT when it failed on it' brakes they advised me that I'd get a better reading if I came back with some weight in there - so 12 large railways sleepers went in!

Have you got it booked in? I don't know what the time lag is on their appointments and I've got to get mine done by the end of June - must get the leaky rocker cover fixed somehow!

We put weight in the back of ours when it was plated as it helps keep the back end on the flor when they test the brakes!

Ooops I don't think my chap has ever done this when plating. I hope he's doing a good job ?? May have to try your chap as he's only up the road from me. I'm worried now, wouldnt want faulty brakes

The main thing is to get it booked in - the waiting list here can be 6 to 8 weeks as one of the testing centres closed down.
