I have a Daf 45 Turbo Horsebox. The big air filter which is behind the drivers front wheel. The cover is gotten rusty and will need replaced but I dont know what the cover is called so I can look up the part on line to see how much it costs. Can anyone help?

Maybe just the air box/filter lid or cover??? If you go to the daf dealer with your reg no they will be able to show you the parts breakdown, maybe worth looking on ebay to see if someone is breaking one for parts??

Hi, why dont you try ringing your local DAF dealership just explain what you need they will understand, they might ask for your REG NO. just to make sure you get the right part they will give you a price over the phone and they will probably tell you want the proper name for it is so that you could perhaps phone some truck breakers to get the part a little cheaper
Question i know its rusty but does it need replacing, is it effecting your lorries performance the only reason i ask is my horsebox is a really old one and the end to the airfilter housing isnt just rusty its actually missing and she runs fine
i am an HGV driver and i no first hand they can understand girlie speak about whats wrong with your lorry they have to with me

Hi, just spoken to my OH he says if its just rusty with no holes why not rub it down and paint it. that is the cheap option
apparently its only there to stop road spray getting the air filter wet

mechanic muttered something about it needing to be replaced. It has little holes in it. Wonder if I go to local car repair shop and get some filler to repare.
