Ring a mercedes truck dealer, or e-mail them with picture, manufacture year model type etc. I have just changed my car its 13 years old and i have downloaded a handbook after a search on Google. Try Mercedes abc 123 hand book may then give you a choice of years to pick from. Good luck.

Do you do FB AA? There should be a Facebook group for your truck (there is for everything else!) and they're usually a useful source of knowledge.

Lorry is an 815 7.5 ton on a T plate so 20 year old, with a PRB on it. Our mechanic said it could be a faulty sensor and wasn’t overly worried.

Air brakes and lines checked all ok. It’s just done a M5 trip and was fine. Only one sweating was me looking at the warning indicator For 2 hours.

While the engine is running have a slow walk round and see if you can hear an air leak..ive got limited mechanical knowledge but i can usually pinpoint one. If not it will just be a sensor..ive had a few extra over the last few weeks just with things getting iced up

Dad said it could be a air leak, either in tank or lines or it could be the moisture sensor on the bottom of the air tank that needs cleaning.

He is a HGV mobile mechanic ☺️

thank you so much. The air tank levels rose as soon as the lorry fired up as normal and it had been stood for a week and maintained throughout the journey. I can’t hear any stood outside.

It does look like a brake related warning, but when it is an amber warning it is not an immanent disaster, more a 'sort it out when you have a chance to' type warning.

Thats what our mechanic said for today’s journey which was to hospital rather than a fun outing. Didn’t stop my stress levels on motorway though !

No problem.

Did the light go off once the air rose?

Our J reg Leyland DAF has an air leak, for the life of us we can't find it but once the air pressure builds up the warning light and nose goes off and its fine.

Dad said it's probably the sensor then.

No it stayed on there and back, and comes on immediately I turn the key.

I'm no mechanic but I know somebody who is, and he said warning lights often stay on for a while even after the problem is fixed, as the computer wants to check it's really fixed before switching off the warning. You can get the garage to reset everything so you have no lights, for a fee, and then if one comes on again you know it's a real issue. Probably not something to do where brakes are concerned, but can help if there's a warning and the mechanic says it's fine.

If you have an air leak the wagon will loose all its air when you turn the engine off. Then when you turn it back on the buzzers will be going while it builds air pressure back up. Theres loads of minor tiny reasons for air leaks. My old one had a bung on the underside of the air tanks and you could hear it hissing. When the mechanic has got it over a pit ask to go under and have a listen yourself. I think mechanics like to keep a certain amount of mystery around these things but oncd you get into it you can pick some useful tips up for yourself!

It doesn't drop its air at all. I pumped the air off to see what it would do and it built back up as normal and maintained. The sensor issue seems most likely. It is due for plate in May so will have to be sorted soon. It will have to run as it is for the minute as I have horse going into hospital very soon so need the truck.
