SOME BARSTEWARD HAD STOLEN MY LORRY. Was there when I left the yard last night at 8 p.m and had gone when I got there at 7 a.m. Cut the fence down, driven it across the field, down next doors track and cut their way through the metal locked gates. PC Plod not really interested.

Not a good day, fortunately all my horses were still there

Ohh dear! whereabouts in leicestershire are you?

At least your horses were safe, its sad but if theves want something they will get it regardless, no amount of bolts/padlocks etc keep anything safe these days

sorry to here that, i must add please keep on at police my friends pony was stolen wednesday evening, early thursday morning from kent.
the police were not intreasted but after a long time on at them they turned up ,so keep on at them

Please let us have a picture and the registration number, chassis number and engine number of the vehicle so that it can be circulated to horse watch. However please ask the police for an incident number and provide it for us (you will need it for your insurers anyway).

Make sure that you post code the roof of your horse boxes in large letters so that they can be seen from the air. Many police forces have a policy of stopping any horse boxes and trailers being driven between midnight and 4.0 a.m.

We have be warned away from Post Coding roof by local police as they have said there have been incidences of would be theives sitting on motorway etc bridges and making a note of the codes then googling them to know where box may be - they suggested a randon series of alpha numnerics rather than a post code

Any info on box and I'll keep a look out - barstewards

I'm sorry to hear that
Yard next door to mine had there lorry stolen last wednesday night.
That was in near Coleshill, West Mids. Was 7.5t lorry with living.
They must be targeting horseboxes at the moment.

Good grief, they've gone to some lengths to take it! I wonder if the police would be as laid back if it was a car that had been stolen? I cannot get my head round the attitude of 'if it is horse related it is not important'. I wonder if it would be the same if it was another 'leisure' object, such as a motor boat?
